On the surface, Brisco County Jr. looks just like any other trail-hardened sharpshooting bounty hunter. What you might not guess at first is that he holds a law degree from Harvard, ocassionally recieves advice from the ghost of his dead father, and talks to his horse. He's also quite forward-thinking for a man of his time, and is constantly on the lookout for anything new and different, which he refers to as 'the coming thing.'

While his main mission at present is to round up the gang of outlaws responsible for the death of his father, Brisco's destiny is somehow intertwined with a mysterious object known only as 'the Orb.' This golden sphere holds inexplicable mystical powers, including the ability to grant men superhuman strength and heal fatal wounds. What role the Orb will play in Brisco's life is currently unknown.
